1. Recognize this key truth.... God loves you. He knows what is best for you is a relationship with Him.
2. Remember God is perfect in every way.
3. Realize that you, and all of mankind, are not perfect and we cannot have a relationship with God due to our imperfection. Our imperfection is reflected in our self-centeredness and selfish nature which we all have (Look at Bible passage -- Romans 3:10, 23).
4. Never forget this ---- God loves you! Because of that love, Jesus, who is God, came to pay for all of your imperfection (sin) and died on a cross for you. He paid for all of your sin. The reason he paid everything for you is because you cannot make a satisfactory payment. You (and all of us) are not perfect. Only Jesus could make the perfect payment for you. He paid for all of your sin; past, present, and future, because of His great love for you (Look at Bible passage -- Romans 5:8, 3:23; John 3:16).
5. In order for you to have a relationship with God and go to heaven after death, you must receive His gift and full payment for your sin. To receive His gift, you must turn from your self centered ways, realize you cannot save yourself, turn to Him to lead your life, and trust Him completely. If you turn to Him, He will receive you into His family and begin an every day relationship with you (Look at Bible passage -- Romans 10:9-10).
6. God loves you! No matter who you are or your background, God will receive you if you turn to Him, trust that He alone paid for your sin, ask Him to forgive you, and surrender to Him to lead your life (Look at Bible passage -- Romans 10:13)
